4 recalls issued since the Tesla Cybertruck was offered for sale in 2023

The electric vehicle giant just issued its fourth recall on the Cybertruck pickup since the vehicle was initially offered for sale in November 2023. That’s not a very strong track record in the auto industry. This fourth recall involves the windshield wipers and affects more than 11,000 trucks. The problems were first discovered in February 2024.
Tesla’s remedy is to replace the wiper motor and replace or rework the trim piece so that it stays on, free of charge to owners. It plans to notify owners of the recall and repair in August 2024.
The windshield wiper recall comes after a recall of almost 2.2 million vehicles, nearly all of the Tesla vehicles sold in the US, because the font size was too small to read on the instrument panel for certain safety features. This includes, the brake and park and antilock brake system warning lights, which increase the chance of a crash.
In April, Tesla recalled another nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks due to problems with a malfunctioning accelerator pedal that could come loose when strong force was applied.
If Tesla intends to compete with brands like Ford and Rivian in the electric truck market, it must improve its quality. I would be hesitant to purchase this vehicle until Tesla works out the kinks.
